Over the course of the last seven years, Sahen Skinner has proven himself as a professional snowmobile guide in the back country with his own unique style. It is with great determination, preparation, and enthusiasm that Sahen is starting his own business (SS Freeride) to promote the wonder and sport of back country snowmobile riding. SS Freeride is here to set an example for the passionate snowmobiler and sport in general, as well as help you get the most out of your riding experience every time you pull that rope.

Sahen grew up in western Wyoming, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Even as a child, he was fascinated with anything that was loud and fast—from go-karts to monster trucks. His love of snowmobiling began at the age of 5, riding a Yamaha Sno-Scoot with his dad and brother Nick, through some of the gnarliest terrain Wyoming has to offer. The first snowmobile movie Sahen ever watched was Slednecks 5, and he was inspired to ride snowmobiles for the rest of his life.

Through his teenage years, Sahen tried his luck at the RMSHA Hill Climb circuit with success, but he started to lose interest with all of the rules and sitting around. Soon after, Sahen realized that his true passion for snowmobiling was in the back country where rules don’t apply. At age 18, his dad signed him up for a Burandt’s Backcountry Adventure with Chris Burandt. It wasn’t long after that Chris realized his talent and offered him a job. Only 19 years of age, Sahen began his career as a professional rider alongside Chris, 7 days a week—all winter long. Chris has shaped and molded Sahen into an ambassador of the steep and deep, teaching him all his secrets.

Now seven years later, Sahen has since moved back to Wyoming to pursue his own guiding venture. Come ride on the same terrain where Sahen grew up, learn with us, laugh with us, and enjoy some beautiful scenery along the way!
